Cartier Santos Carrée Ref. 2960 “Burgundy Dial” – Cartier’s 75th Anniversary Statement
The Cartier Santos Carrée is already one of the great design icons of the late 20th century, but this rare burgundy lacquer dial version takes it to another level. Released in 1979 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Santos, this dial is among the most sought-after configurations ever fitted to the Ref. 2960.
Unlike the classic Santos with Roman numerals, this special anniversary dial is completely clean — a deep, rich burgundy lacquer with extraordinary depth and character, paired with matching steel sword hands and a red cabochon crown. The dial should read simply “Swiss” at six o’clock, as on our example, which distinguishes it from later service dials marked “Swiss Made”.
Our watch comes in excellent condition with a beautifully preserved and sharp Santos Carrée case. One of the rarest and most charismatic Santos references ever made — a true collector’s Cartier.
