Audemars Piguet Cobra 5403 — Jumbo 18k Yellow Gold with Diamond Dial (1970s)
A striking icon of 1970s Audemars Piguet design — bold, sculptural, and unmistakably luxurious.
This rare AP Ref. 5403, nicknamed “Cobra”, gets its name from the woven, scale-like pattern of its heavy 18k yellow gold bracelet, which integrates seamlessly into the case for a fluid, serpentine aesthetic. The oversized 35 mm case (large for its era) delivers strong wrist presence while remaining ultra-slim and refined.
Its vertically brushed gold dial features 12 factory-set diamonds, perfectly complementing the warm tones of the gold case and bracelet. The hands and crown are original, completing the watch’s beautifully preserved authenticity.
Inside beats the legendary Audemars Piguet Caliber 2121, one of the finest ultra-thin automatic movements ever made — derived from the same architecture used in the early Royal Oak.
A rare opportunity to acquire a statement piece of AP’s design heritage — both powerful and elegant in equal measure.
