Launched in 1957, the 9P caliber was groundbreaking for 2 reasons: standing at 2 mm, it was the thinnest manual-wound movement ever made for wristwatches, and its 20.5 mm diameter was much larger than the standard, therefore allowing for larger cases.
Its slimness was not only a technical accomplishment, it also allowed the manufacture to fit dials made of hard stones while retaining a thin profile, like this flawless 18k yellow gold Piaget with hobnail structured silver colored dial. Leaf hands and Roman numerals striking a figure on this beauty. Our model features the successor of the legendary 9P movement.
This particular model is number 55 out of 100 which were produced in this configuration 1992.
