Universal Genève Polerouter Super – Gerald Genta’s Black Dial Icon
A bold evolution of one of Universal Genève’s most celebrated designs.
Originally created in 1954 by a young Gérald Genta for pilots of the Scandinavian Airline System (SAS), the Polerouterwas built to resist the magnetic fields encountered on transpolar flights. This 1960s Super variant refines that vision with a stronger case profile, angular lugs, and a dramatic dial.
Its black crosshair dial paired with a mirrored steel chapter ring creates a striking play of light, elevating this piece far beyond a traditional tool watch. The case, in outstanding condition, has been polished to original Universal Genève factory specs, preserving its sharp edges and vintage charm.
Inside, the renowned Microtor Caliber 69 powers the watch with technical finesse and a slim profile — a perfect match for the clean aesthetic.
Rare, collectible, and unmistakably Genta — this Polerouter is a timeless conversation piece.
