The Polerouter was produced in 1954 by Universal Genève in partnership with Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) by a then 24-year-old Gerald Genta. Universal Genève developed the automatic Polerouter to be more resistant to the strong magnetic fields at the North and South poles.
The version you see here is the no date bumper version in stainless steel with a stunning silver/cream cross-hair dial and a mirrored stainless steel chapter ring which plays with light amazingly. The bumper versions are the earliest Polerouters you can get.
