The Polerouter was produced in 1954 by Universal Genève in partnership with Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) by a then 24-year-old Gerald Genta. Universal Genève developed the automatic Polerouter to be more resistant to the strong magnetic fields at the North and South poles.
The version you see here is the date version in stainless steel with a silver/cream dial and the stainless steel chapter ring which plays with light amazingly. It is a later version that showed up in their catalog in the 1960s. Overall, this is a beautiful designed watch with a rich aviation history and stunning microtor movement. The best part is that it comes with the very rare original Gay Frères Bracelet.
