The Polerouter was produced in 1954 by Universal Genève in partnership with Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) by a then 24-year-old Gerald Genta. Universal Genève developed the automatic Polerouter to be more resistant to the strong magnetic fields at the North and South poles.
The version you see here is one of the first full 18k yellow gold De Luxe edition with a stunning tropical dial with beautiful patina and a very nice finishing and a mirrored yellow gold chapter ring. Icing in the cake are the rare bombé lugs and Chronometre writing at the bottom of the dial.
